Back in the 80's, the choral arrangements of Robert Delgado were used by the Philippine Madrigal Singers. Robert Delgado was one of the resident arrangers of the group. However, every time his arrangement was being sung, many choral conductors and enthusiasts would go out of their way to be able to keep hold of the arrangement. Despite the strict rules of the Phil. Madrigal Singers in distributing their pieces to the members, non-members do manage to get hold of copies of the scores. It just happened when the arrangement of "Sana'y Wala Nang Wakas" was sung by almost all competing choirs of a national choral competition, one would imagine how the score was being transported from the hands of choral conductors from the northern to the southern regions of the country. One would even tag a competition "a Robert Delgado festival" if majority of the competing choirs would sing an arrangement of Robert Delgado as their choice piece.
For Robert, there was no problem if his musical arrangements are being circulated this way, but there was one instance where his arrangement of "Sana'y Wala Nang Wakas" was copied by a Filipino choral conductor based in Rome, Italy and put his name on the score and made it as his. The thing is, he even boasted the arrangement to Robert Delgado. Upon scrutinizing the arrangement, Robert discovered that the arrangement was his only with a different handwriting. Since then, Robert Delgado thought of publishing compilations of his arrangements.
In his desire to make his arrangements more accessible to more people, but without having some people copying them, Robert started to publish compilations of his choral works. In 2000, he published his first compilation. After the fourth compilation, he discontinued due to high production and distribution cost and slow returns. However, people keep on asking him how to get hold of his arrangements.
In the age of internet and storing large files over the net, Robert believes that the internet is the best solution for his problems yet. Not only could people access on his arrangements easily, but he could even gather his previous ones and store them securely and be able to access them anywhere in the world and on different computers.
